It’s a very good sign to hear that some NBA team facilities can and will be opening back up as early as this Friday. Just as it was the case that the National Basketball Association led most sports organizations in shutting down competition, it looks like they’ll do the same for resuming play.
This is obviously necessary for the fairness and well-being of continued play in the league. Basketball is a game of conditioning and momentum, so if you’re like me — you only want to see these players in the right mind-state and at the top of their game.
There’s still a huge question as to when and what type of format will be implemented, but there have been multiple reports that Silver (Adam) is in fact willing to delay the 2020-2021 campaign for as long as he needs. This means that we may have to wait a little longer to see any type of augmentation to the current format of the NBA schedule.
The good news: once the season does start back up, we’ll get the full remaining schedule of our favorite pro hoops league that we’ve all been so desperately needing. And barring any wild Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving situation — I’d say that we’ll see a Lakers-Bucks finals with L.A. coming out on top, but anything can happen.
There’s been a lot of negativity in the world over the past few months, but there’s so much more positivity that we can produce. At least we have the 2019-2020 NBA season to look forward to…that and the last four episodes of The Last Dance.
