It’s time for the NBA Finals. It seems like it was just yesterday when we were ramping and raving about the beginning of the NBA Restart. Oddly enough, there’s a calm energy about the two teams that we’ll see in the final round of the 2020 NBA Playoffs. The Miami Heat have defied the odds all season and are now able to reap the rewards of the hard work that’s been displayed. On the other side, the powerhouse Los Angeles Lakers will look to add another title to their expansive collection. Let’s get into it.
As it’s been the case for the entire playoffs, LeBron James and Anthony Davis will look to run wild. The Heat don’t seem to have anyone that can handle the two Laker stars. Intuitively, we’d expect to see a mix of Jimmy Butler and Jae Crowder on Lebron while Bam Adebayo will take a shot at corralling AD. If Laker guards Danny Green and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope can contain Miami’s guard-heavy scorers, the Lakers could sweep.
An early 2-3 zone by the Miami Heat was able to slow down Boston, but it may not be effective here. Anthony Davis is a technician around the basket, and all indications say that he’ll be shooting the three well. All in all, this Lakers team was built for success, and their experience should win out if their overwhelming skill doesn’t.
Keys To Win
The Heat will need to slow the game down like they did with Boston. Utilizing their fouls can make sure that the Lakers don’t play Showtime Laker basketball. LA should really make a push to attack the rim hard, because there will be absolutely no resistance down low should Adebayo get into foul trouble. Miami should look to put up as many threes as possible.
They (Miami) may not be as efficient as Houston with their long-distance attempts, but have an ample amount of deep weapons. Should the Heat be able to keep the game close down the stretch, anything can happen. But surely, Mr. James will hope to end this with ease to help feed his growing legacy.
